Elvira Lagji, M.MUS
European trained cellist, teacher and performer
Elvira started studying Cello at the age of 6 and she successfully finished her studies at the Fine Arts Academy in Tirana (Alb) for Cello Performance, Chamber Music and Pedagogy where she was awarded her Master of Music degree with Honors.

After graduation she assumed numerous orchestral positions in both Chamber and full Orchestra as a Cello performer, such as in the “Burnaby Symphony Orchestra”, Pilgrim Orchestra”, and “Stradivari Ensemble”.
In addition, Elvira was the Cellist for the “Wrelek” and “Appasionata” Trios, performing many concerts to high acclaim as well as performing in a number of Solo and duo recitals with acclaimed international pianist and adjudicator Winfried Rompf.

Elvira is also an acclaimed teacher and performer of cello in Vancouver with over 30 years of teaching experience both privately, at her own “Elvira Lagji Cello Studio” and in the “British Columbia Conservatory of Music”.
She has taught outstanding students who have gone on to win numerous awards and prizes. She has prepared students who have done well in both local, national and International competitions both in Festivals and examinations. She teaches at every level from beginner to advanced. Many of Elvira’s students have excelled with high marks and have gone on to national and international stages having a history of success across US, Canada, Asia and Europe.
